Annual Avarekai Mela started in Bangalore at Sajjan Rao Circle on Friday. Kannada actress Hardhika Shetty and Bangalore police commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar inaugurated the festival.
Over 100 chefs are preparing more than 50 varieties of delicious dishes in the mela. Some of them are Avarekai dose, sambar, olige, upma, kheer, masala vada, ragi balls and avarekai kadubu which is a special attraction in this food festival.
Visitors can taste these delicious eats at the mela itself or can take away with them.
The Avarekai Mela will be held for 12 days till 7th January 2014.
