Attara Kacheri is a beautiful red brick building, built in Greece Roman style architecture and currently houses Karnataka High Court.
The construction of the building was started in 1864 and was completed in 1868 under the supervision of Rao Bahadur Arcot Narayanaswami Mudaliar.
Initially the building was named as Old Public Offices and got its name when Eighteen (Attara) general and revenue departments from the Secretariat of Mysore Government shifted here.
The beautiful building was proposed to be demolished in 1982, but was prevented by a Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
